Hemp 麻

We are excited to introduce you to our brand new, paradigm-shifting portfolio of papers made with hemp, straw, and recycled cotton fiber: Mohawk Renewal.
With the introduction of Mohawk Renewal, we are writing a new chapter in our evolving environmental story. Driven by a desire to redefine the contours of fiber sourcing by rediscovering legacy materials like hemp, straw, and cotton rag — we are, in essence, looking to the papermaking methods of the past to chart a more sustainable future.
Today, Mohawk Renewal represents a fresh expression of what responsible papermaking can look like.
Hemp
Hemp grows rapidly, maturing in as quickly as 90 days. Turning hemp into pulp requires less chemicals, water, and energy than wood.
Straw
Making paper with straw eliminates the need for "fall burns" set by farmers to clear straw from their fields, creating acrid smoke and carbon emissions.
Recycled Cotton
Recycled Cotton paper is made from t-shirt and denim scraps diverted from millions of tons of textile waste sent to landfills every year.
The Product
The offering for Mohawk Renewal is simple. Choose from three renewable fibers in seven colors and two gorgeous finishes. Each shade tells its own origin story and breaks new ground in the responsible creation of world-class, fine papers.
Hemp:
Mohawk Renewal Hemp papers are available in three shades: Clean White, Fiber White, and Flower, a natural green. Each shade contains 30 percent hemp fiber, blended with post consumer paper waste and/or responsibly sourced virgin fibers.
Straw:
Mohawk Renewal Straw is available in two shades: Harvest White and Wheat. Both colors take their cue from the 30% straw fibers used in each sheet. With subtle fiber inclusions, these papers are completely unique in the market.
Recycled Cotton:
Mohawk Renewal Recycled Cotton's two shades are a direct reflection of their input materials. T-Shirt White is made from pure, unbleached white cotton textile waste, while Denim is made from 30% reclaimed denim thread and 70% cotton t-shirt textile.
